Approximately 25,000 homes in Queensland's southeast woke up lacking electricity on Monday morning after powerful weather events impacted the state, bringing strong winds topping 109 kilometers per hour.
Large Frozen Precipitation and Widespread Damage
Homeowners witnessed giant hailstones reaching sizes of seven centimeters in some areas. The Bureau of Meteorology announced that various areas across the state had been impacted by substantial ice precipitation.

Response teams were focused on reestablishing power throughout the damaged zones, with approximately seventy teams activated to address the extensive power failures.
Victorian Weather Woes
Simultaneously, approximately one thousand energy customers in the southern state also encountered energy failures after the capital city experienced its wettest day in over 500 days.
Emergency response teams handled 598 calls for help across the state, mainly for building damage but also for collapsed vegetation and flooding.

At the height on yesterday, more than 28,000 power users in the state were without power.
Weather Forecast
Moist weather were expected to linger along much of Queensland's east this week as a weather pattern continued to attract humidity against the coast.
Tuesday was expected to become the heaviest precipitation period, with persistent severe weather risk anticipated across multiple regions of both areas.
Health Warning
Medical authorities alerted that there was an increased chance of thunderstorm-induced asthma across the countryside regions, specifically given the ongoing climate situation.
This caution comes after past events where similar conditions led to significant health impacts in the state.
