I'll overwhelm 'legitimate boxer' Paul - Anthony Joshua
Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-round match which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua said he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair met personally to publicize next month's bout.
Former two-time world title holder Anthony Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's my goal."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and internet personality Jake Paul - typically recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and kept it respectful with each other.
Jake Paul instead attacked former Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, criticized British rival Tyson Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul win.
"Jake Paul is superior to Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Fighter
In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he said.
Paul's Background
Jake Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He lost to Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Success
Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of the sport's biggest financial successes, consistently making substantial earnings.
Prediction and Confidence
The 28-year-old predicted a KO victory in rounds four or five and claimed he would stop the much-anticipated Fury-Joshua bout, which is reportedly in the works for 2026.
"It's going to be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the traditional confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the match is really going ahead.
